This wonderful, uplifting video was just banned in France. Can you believe it?

The video shows expectant parents that people with Down syndrome live a happy and fulfilling life. It is a beautiful representation of the value of all lives! As I watched it this morning, it brought tears to my eyes.

The State Council in France just affirmed a ruling that bans the video on the grounds that it is “inappropriate.” They argue that allowing people with Down syndrome to smile is “likely to disturb the conscience of women who had lawfully made different personal life choices.”

Essentially, France is telling people with Down syndrome that they do not have a right to show their happiness in the public sphere. This decision is discriminatory, and it violates the rights of individuals with Down syndrome.

96% of preborn babies who are diagnosed with Down syndrome in France are aborted. This ad seeks to show families that boys and girls with Down syndrome are beautiful and they deserve the right to life.

Please join us in showing the international disdain for this decision.

When you sign this petition, your note will be sent directly to the State Council in France and to France’s President, François Hollande. If we make enough noise, France will surely be forced to reconsider this unbelievable decision.
