Pennsylvania School Rejects Pro-Life Club
A group of high school pro-life students near Allentown, Pennsylvania are being discriminated against by their high school administrators and need your help.
Parkland High School’s assistant principal is denying the right of high school students Elizabeth Castro and Grace Schairer to start a pro-life club. These students only intend to educate and inform their peers on the tragedy of abortion and to help those facing unplanned, crisis pregnancies.
This comes after Elizabeth and Grace went through the entire process to meet all school requirements to create this club.
Elizabeth had this to say:
"We met all the requirements (but) were denied simply because we are pro-life. As a club, our purpose is to create a life-affirming culture at our school, educate our peers on the issue of life, hold diaper drives to support pregnant and parenting students, and become a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. The school is not only denying my right to start a group but denying the opportunity for others at my school to learn about the greatest human rights social injustice of our time.
The assistant principal has not responded to correspondents from students asking for further instructions on how to keep this club going.
The school’s concern is that a pro-life club at Parkland High School would be too controversial. However, Parkland High School allowed students to start a LGBT club and a political science club.
Elizabeth and Grace were forced to seek legal representation through the Thomas More Society. These pro-life students deserve the equal rights their peers receive.
Please sign our petition to administrators at Parkland High School asking that they work with Elizabeth and Grace to reinstate their pro-life club.
