Let us stand for freedom of speech in Europe

Freedom of speech in Europe is in great danger!

On 9 December 2021, the European Commission proposed to extend the list of EU crimes to hate speech and hate crimes.

If this proposal is accepted, the pro-life and pro-family voice in the EU will be shut down, triggering a domino effect in western countries. Sorry, but I must warn you about the upcoming danger: your right to free speech will be violated by public and private entities.

It's a tactic by the radical left to censor any dissent to their agenda worldwide. By changing the definition of what free speech means, they’ll strike a blow on our freedom to defend our opinions and beliefs… We are on the brink of being unplugged!

The debates are still going on, but the vote is inexorably coming. The next meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council will be in Luxembourg on 9 - 10 June 2022. We plan to persuade some delegates of the EU Member States to vote against the new hate speech laws and make them derail… But I need your help NOW!

If freedom of expression is suppressed, the system of government turns into totalitarian tyranny.

We are increasingly seeing how hate speech laws can be misused for persecuting people of different opinions. Biden administration in the US has announced its intent to establish a Disinformation Governance Board (DGB) to label information it does not like as disinformation. The Finnish pro-gender prosecutor persecuted the Christian politician Päivi Räsänen for her biblical views on marriage, family, and sexuality.

We must stop it until it is too late!

The new hate speech laws proposed by the Commission to be added to Article 83(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) are very loosely worded and might be arbitrarily misused by some powerful groups e.g. pro-abortion and pro-gender politicians, judges, and activists.

Another problem is that we have no clear definition of what hate speech and hate crimes are.

The radical left want to have free hands to shut you down and censor the pro-life and pro-family voices! If they get away with this in the EU, they’ll feel entitled to impose the same censorship in the rest of the western countries, including Australia.

We are mobilizing thousands of citizens around the world to prevent the radical left in the EU from converting you into a criminal… But we have to move fast to convince the delegates since the vote session is expected on 9-10 June.

The situation is difficult, but we have hope.

For the introduction of the new hate speech laws, the delegates of the Justice and Home Affairs Council in Luxembourg must unanimously vote.

It means that if we manage to persuade some delegates of the EU Member States to vote against the new hate speech laws, we can win and defend our freedom of speech.

However, if we fail, it might very easily and quickly happen that we will face judicial trials for our pro-life, pro-family, and pro-Christian opinions presented in public. Then, free Europe will be over.

I hope that this is not what you and I want. Let’s act NOW to avoid it.

Therefore, we need to speak up and defend freedom of speech until it is too late!

Please, sign our petition and stand for freedom of expression in Europe!

Stop coronavirus from being used to suppress freedoms

It goes without saying that the global Coronavirus pandemic has had a life-changing effect on people everywhere. We have all experienced restrictions in some way or another.

Whether it has been the closure of churches inhibiting our freedom to worship, or small family businesses collapsing due to financial difficulty, we have faced hardship in varying degrees.

It makes sense that governments around the world should enforce certain health directions due to the heightened levels of threat to public health, however there has been an alarming trend of authorities using the Coronavirus outbreak as an opportunity to further entrench repressive, authoritarian measures -- actions which can be seen as overreaching the limits in place under international human rights laws on government powers during emergencies.

“How and where is freedom under threat?” you may be asking. Increased surveillance on citizens, restrictions on free expression and information, and limits on public participation in protests are just a few. And all of these are happening right here in Australia.

Placing the entire populace under house arrest and expecting nothing less than complete obedience and unquestioning submission from citizens should ignite concern.

Perhaps the most recent violation of human rights was seen recently in the state of Victoria, Australia.

Last week, a viral video of pregnant mother Zoe Buhler being handcuffed in Victoria over an anti-lockdown protest event post she created on Facebook sparked a media firestorm. Ms Buhler was not asking people to not wear masks or social distance, in fact she made it clear that protestors were to observe such precautions.

Her “crime” was simply posting on Facebook “to stand for human rights” by asking people to make signs and peacefully protest. And police insisted on arresting the pregnant mother despite her saying she could simply delete her post.

How has Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews allowed this despicable treatment of a citizen to happen under his watch? This is just one symptom of a much bigger problem. And the worrying part is that Prime Minister Scott Morrison has publicly come out in “full support” of Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, including his imposition of what can be best described as de facto martial law in the state.

This is concerning and it needs to stop. That is why we are asking you today to call upon Prime Minister Scott Morrison to publicly insist Premiers of each state in Australia protect our most basic democratic rights.

Of course, some of the restrictions in other states such as South Australia are not as draconian. Nevertheless, when our most basic freedoms are held in the delicate balance of unsavoury political ideologues, it begs the question “where and when do we start drawing lines in the sand?”

The arbitrary nature of government dictation as to what citizens can and cannot do has been appalling. The Victorian Premier allowed a Black Lives Matter protest -- which drew thousands -- to go ahead and yet young pregnant mum Zoe Buhler was arrested for even daring to bring into question the government’s lockdown measures.

We are being told there has been no evidence linking Black Lives Matter protests to the second wave of cases in Melbourne and wider Victoria, so therefore a small town rally that did in fact go ahead and garnered a couple hundred protesters at best, is no threat.

Without reliable data to support the rationale behind draconian lockdown measures, it really is one big game of trial and error with a sinister agenda to restrict democratic freedoms under the guise of coronavirus countermeasures.

With suicide rates in Australia forecasted to skyrocket by 50 percent, it’s little wonder that the reckless restrictions on freedom and the resulting socio-economic impact have something to do with that.

As The Australian columnist Janet Albrechtsen wrote “no politician is going to be held responsible for the future suicide of an unemployed young man who has lost hope. But they imagine they will be held responsible for the immediate death of a 94-year old from, or with, COVID-19.”

Tell Alibaba: stop selling child sex dolls

UPDATE - 22 JULY: Earlier this week, we joined in with other advocacy groups and launched our campaign calling on multi-national shopping platform Alibaba.com to immediately remove vile child sex dolls on sale.

Not long after our petition launch we received information that Collective Shout, who originally launched the investigation into the sickening 'products’, was successful in pressuring Alibaba to remove them.

Alibaba has said it will be working to prevent this from happening in future. We were expecting it would take much longer to see a resolution to this issue, so this is a great outcome.

We would like to thank our CitizenGO supporters who lent support to this important cause by writing to Alibaba directly or signing our petition.

--

The topic of this action alert is very confronting.

You see, right now, extremely realistic child sex dolls are being sold online right here in Australia and New Zealand. We need your help to stop this depravity!

Last week, advocacy group Collective Shout released findings from its undercover investigation into global shopping giant Alibaba. Some of the listings they exposed included dolls with replica genitalia and video guides demonstrating how they could be “used”.

Outrageously, sale of these dolls continues despite the fact that Alibaba has previously stated the items were in violation of their terms and conditions and said that they would remove them from sale. Still, nothing has happened.

Despite the fact that obtaining and owning a child sex doll is illegal in Australia,  profit-hungry vendors are offering to ship to the country.

According to reports, some of the items advertised as “sex dolls for men” were as small as a six-month-old baby with one listing even describing the ‘baby’ as ‘cute’ and ‘soft’ and another headlining the ‘product’ with ‘take her home... for man sex.’

Disturbingly, another featured a silicone 4 ft. 9 in. ‘small breast, young girl’ that was so tiny it could be taken apart and packed into a suitcase.

The disgusting items are being sold for between $250 - $500 each by at least 18 different suppliers on the Chinese owned ecommerce platform.

I cannot even express how difficult and distressing it is to explain to you what is happening here. The word ‘disturbing’ doesn’t even begin to describe how vile and perverted these ‘products’ are. Some of the ‘product’ descriptions are so graphic to write about.

Alibaba is directly enabling and profiting from a trade which is not victimless. According to the most recent Australian Bureau of Statistics Personal Safety Survey (ABS, 2017), 11% of women and 5% of men in Australia report having been sexually abused before the age of 15 years.

The easy access to child sex dolls sold online thanks to Alibaba is no doubt facilitating the perverted fantasies and deviancy of paedophiles across the country.

As recently as May this year, federal police arrested three men in New South Wales for the purchase and possession of childlike sex dolls - one of which was imported from China.

A study conducted last year by the Australian Institute of Criminology found that child sex dolls are linked to an increase in child sexual abuse and desensitisation to the damage that sex abuse causes to children.

The sale of child sex dolls potentially results in the risk of children being objectified as sexual beings and of child sex becoming a commodity… there is a risk that child-like dolls could be used to groom children for sex, in the same way that adult sex dolls have already been used,” the study said.

The study also refuted claims that child sex dolls have a therapeutic benefit in preventing child sexual abuse.

We cannot stand aside and continue to let paedophiles feed on the twisted fantasies of helpless babies and young children.

You can help us take urgent action today by signing this petition calling on Alibaba to cease sale of these vile items.

Please, SIGN the petition to Alibaba, to stop this disgusting trade in its tracks.

Say no to the sexual exploitation of women!

UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that Members of the South Australian Parliament have VOTED DOWN the 13th attempt at decriminalising prostitution in the state.

"This is a huge win for women across the state and sends a strong message that the commodification of a woman's body for the gratification of a man is not ok," said CitizenGO Australian Editor Caleb Stephen

"Without the combined efforts of CitizenGOers like you and many other concerned individuals, this harmful bill would not have been defeated. So, thank you for your efforts.

"MPs have come under pressure from petitioners and advocates across the state in recent months to push back against any attempt at fully decriminalising this twisted trade and this has proven successful."

Legal prostitution advocates in South Australia are pushing for full decriminalisation of the industry with a model similar to Uber’s modus operandi where it’s claimed prostitutes will operate with no perceived obvious impact to the community.

More importantly, these proposed changes will continue to propel the twisted and degraded idea that our nation’s young women can be bought and sold for the gratification of others!

A cunningly crafted disruptive strategy is being pushed so as to not give the general public the idea that “mega brothels” are popping up and operating in their neighbourhoods close to schools, childcare centres and churches etc.

Any young female with a Facebook profile, an ABN and a smartphone can independently advertise and solicit services online. These women are not just statistics. They are not objects. They are daughters, sisters, girlfriends, wives and mothers.

And while prostitutes are increasingly using online platforms such as Ugly Mugs (originally from the UK) with a rating feature similar to Uber’s to solicit street work, this does not completely eliminate the threat of violence perpetrated by clients with violent tendencies.

The bottom line is that the commodification of women for the purposes of sexual gratification needs to be stopped in its tracks right now!

Please write to Premier Steven Marshall to consider the Nordic approach to prostitution where customers are criminalised for buying exploitive services as opposed to prostitutes being prosecuted. Under this model, young women are given the necessary support to gain qualifications and obtain work in industries where their dignity is not exploited.

Sign our petition today and tell all your friends in South Australia to stand with you on this important issue!

Stand up for religious freedom in Australia

Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Attorney-General Christian Porter have recently announced legislative changes to protect religious freedom in Australia following the Ruddock Religious Freedom Review, however those changes are insufficient.

Alarmingly, the proposed changes will not comprehensively protect religious freedom instead viewing belief as an exemption. This "privilege" could be easily revoked at leisure rather than it being a fundamental human right.

Furthermore, the ability for someone to conscientiously object to a practice or belief will not be adequately protected.

The bottom line is that there are no solid guarantees that the proposed laws will actually protect those publicly expressing their beliefs in the workplace and elsewhere - whether that be schools, charities and other faith-based organisations that are not churches or church affiliated.

Freedom of religion is a basic, inalienable human right and deserves the highest recognition and protection by government.

Since Australia is a party to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), the Federal Government should regard freedom of religion through the expression of thought, belief, speech and conscience as positive rights rather than treat them simply as narrow exemptions or afterthoughts.

To many followers of Jesus, faith isn't just a private, obscure aspect of their lives. Indeed, faith has broad implications for all of life. Not only does it shape the way we think and feel but it also has a huge bearing on how we interact with those around us. This freedom arises from the innate human capacity to order one’s life through thought and reason rather than by instinct or fearful compulsion.

If your faith is important to you, please petition Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Attorney General Christian Porter urging them to enact laws that provide comprehensive protection for religious freedom.

DC Comics to release blasphemous series about Jesus

UPDATE: Feb. 14th, 2019

After our petition went viral, DC Comics has decided to cancel "Second Coming"!

Read more: https://comicbook.com/dc/2019/02/13/dc-comics-cancels-second-coming/

DC Comics is set to release an outrageous and blasphemous new series featuring Jesus Christ as the sidekick for an "all powerful" superhero.

Let DC Comics know that this comic is inappropriate. It should be immediately pulled from their release schedule.

According to Fox News, the “Second Coming” comic “reimagines why Jesus left earth the first time and is coming back again.” Author Mark Russell recently shared a bit about the concept behind his comic. He explained, “God was so upset with Jesus’s performance the first time he came to Earth, since he was arrested so soon and crucified shortly after, that he has kept him locked-up since then.”

Can you imagine the media and political uproar if DC Comics was altering and poking fun at the story of Muhammad... or Buddha?

This blasphemous content should not be tolerated. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. His story should not be ridiculed for the sake of selling comic books.

When asked how long his series will continue, Russell explained, “We’re slated for six issues but the goal would be to turn it into an ongoing if the reaction is positive.”

Let DC Comics know that the reaction is most assuredly not positive. If we can’t stop the initial release, hopefully we can ensure that there are no future releases.

Please sign this petition if you agree that DC Comics should pull this blasphemous series. Your signature will be sent directly to DC Comic’s Executive Vice President Amit Desai, Publisher Dan Didio, and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee.
