Tell the Health Secretary to Stop Ignoring Women Hurt by Abortion

When making decisions about abortion, our lawmakers ignore the voices of women who have been adversely affected by abortion. In the name of ‘women’s rights, they invalidate the experiences of those women whose stories show the harm that abortion can do.
Her Voice is a platform for women to share their stories of hurt and healing following an abortion. Here are some words from these women:
- Margaret writes: “I grieved the two children I aborted. I looked at the destructive patterns in my life, so that I would never again choose death as a solution to life's problems.”
- Amy shares: “I don’t have to be grateful for the abortion. I don’t have to say thank you. And I can say I was badly advised and I was left without a choice. It wasn’t my choice.”
- Nathalie says: “I wish someone had taken the time to ask me to stop and think about my decision. I believe I would never have chosen abortion if I had support from healthcare staff and had turned to looked at the screen once during my scan. Because if I had seen my baby even at 8 weeks, I would have chosen life for her.”
These women are not alone in their experiences. Countless women experience the same pain following their abortions. You can read the stories of more women at hervoice.org.uk.
We must call on Matt Hancock, the Health Secretary, to promise to listen to the voices of women who have been hurt by abortion and take their experiences into account when making decisions that will forever impact the lives of tens of thousands of women and their children.
Sign the petition today and together we can ensure that Matt Hancock and others in power cannot ignore the voices of women who have suffered as a result of abortion.
