Solidarity with Israel: UK Jews deserve to feel safe
The world is watching in horror, and so are we.
War has erupted in Israel, with Hamas conducting horrific acts of terrorism.
Innocent lives are being lost every day, with over 1,300 people killed and more than 2,200 injured - many of whom are in critical condition. The terror doesn't end there. Several dozen people have been abducted as hostages, with the elderly, women and children among them. Every day new tragedies are being reported, such as babies being beheaded.
Almost every Israeli has suffered some form of loss - the death of loved ones, injuries, trauma.
Yet, as this tragedy unfolds, many individuals in the UK are publicly celebrating and dancing in the streets…
Join us in demanding the Chair of the National Police Chiefs' Council, Chief Constable Gavin Stephens, Chair of the College of Policing, Lord Herbert, and the Chief Executive of the Crown Prosecution Service, Rebecca Lawrence, show zero tolerance toward those celebrating Hamas’ acts of terrorism.
Unnerving marches across the UK, in Belfast, Brighton, Manchester, London, and more have seen tens of thousands of people celebrate the mass murder, rape, and kidnapping of innocent people in Israel.
One woman in Brighton has even described these horrific acts as "inspiring" and "beautiful" and a cause for celebration.
In London, a family-run Jewish restaurant was vandalised and its cash register was stolen. “Free Palestine” was graffitied nearby.
Despite support for Hamas being a criminal offence under the Terrorism Act 2000, no one has been charged for celebrating the mass murder and rapes they have committed.
Last year the Crown Prosecution Services declined to prosecute a gang of men driving around London, inciting sexual violence against Jewish women.
It seems ‘hate crime’ charges are reserved for people like Caroline Farrow and Joshua Sutcliffe who speak biological truth and 'misgender' someone.
A Jewish friend of mine shared that they are fearful for their safety. A Jewish school has even told children they don’t have to wear their school badge, fearing they could be attacked if they do so. Police are also concerned and have started patrolling Jewish schools.
This is tragic. No one in the UK should live in fear for their safety.
Police need to take immediate action and show zero tolerance towards these antisemitic celebrations and glorifications of war. Allowing this behavior to go unpunished fosters a culture of hate and may incite further violence.
Join us in telling Chief Constable Gavin Stephens to enforce zero tolerance for celebrants of Hamas' terrorism.
By signing this petition, you’re not only helping to ensure the safety of Jewish people in the UK, but you’re also standing with them in compassion and solidarity.
Sign now to show Jewish people in the UK, Israel, and around the world that we stand together in the face of this crisis.
