Stop Drag Queen Storytime in Durham Region libraries
Public libraries across the Durham Region of Ontario have been hosting drag queens in their libraries to indoctrinate young children into LGBTQ+ ideology.
According to Durham Radio News, there is going to be a “Drag Queen Storytime” hosted at both Scugog Public Library (in Port Perry, Ontario) and at the central branch of Whitby Public Library on June 25th.
Drag Queen Storytimes involve biological men who dress up as highly-sexualized women (generally wearing tight clothing, short skirts, lots of makeup, and high-heels) reading stories to kids. The books which are read at these events often have explicit LGBTQ+ themes and are designed to brainwash young children into believing that the traditional definition of marriage is offensive or that children can change their gender.
Already this month, six other Drag Queen Storytime events have been hosted in public libraries across the Durham region, including in Oshawa, Pickering, and Ajax. They’re being organized by The Durham Children’s Aid Society and Youth Pride Durham.
It is also likely, given the venue, that these two Drag Queen Storytimes (as well as the others that have been hosted in public libraries across the Durham region this month) are being paid for through our taxes.
Drag queens are a part of gay culture that are designed to be highly sexualized. Typically events that feature “drag queens” occur in nightclubs, especially gay nightclubs. Drag queens are offensive to many and present a highly sexualised, demeaning and distorted vision of women. For these reasons, it is highly inappropriate to expose children to drag queen events.
Scugog Public Library, the central branch of Whitby Public Library, and all libraries in the Durham region of Ontario need to be made aware of how disturbing it is that their libraries are being used to target drag queen events at children. These events not only expose to LGBTQ+ ideology at a very young age, but they also expose young children to intentionally-sexualized performances which should have no place outside nightclubs and late-night television. These events are even more egregious if they are being funded with taxpayer money.
Please sign this petition to the Chief Executive Officer of Scugog Public Library and the administration at the Whitby Public Library today.

It has come to our attention that you plan on hosting a Drag Queen Storytime on June 25th for children at Scugog Public Library and the central branch of Whitby Public Library.
We strongly urge you to cancel this event and not sponsor sexual-charged events for children in the future.

Drag Queen Storytimes are not innocent events. These events expose young children to a level of LGBTQ+ ideology which is inappropriate and harmful.
We are also concerned that these events are likely being funded with taxpayer money. We do not pay taxes so that public organizations can confuse our children about their gender identity, nor so that our children can be exposed to drag queens, which arose out of gay nightclub culture and are designed to be highly sexualized.
Please cancel this sexually charged event and replace it with an event with age-appropriate literature read by either men dressed appropriately as men, or women dressed appropriately as women.
