PETITION TO STATE GOVERNMENTS
Help stop the ERA! Protect women and families in America!
Help stop the ERA! Protect women and families in America!
There is a devastating amendment being proposed to the constitution by radical feminists, gay rights activists, and abortion promoters in the name of women’s rights. It is called the Equal Rights Amendment or ERA and it not only does not protect the rights of women, it poses a grave threat to our children and families.
Numerous laws already protect women in the areas of education, wages, credit, housing and employment. The U.S. Supreme Court has already ruled that the Equal Protection mandate of the 14th Amendment applies to women. The U.S. Constitution is gender neutral. For these reasons and many others, woman across America oppose the Equal Rights Amendment and ask that you, as our elected official protect the rights and liberties American women have enjoyed for centuries and oppose the ERA as it comes to state legislatures.
ERA was defeated in the 1970’s due to the efforts of thousands of moms—led by Phyllis Schlafly, but radical feminists, gay rights activists, and abortion promoters are pushing hard to bring it back. For the amendment to pass it has to be ratified by 3/4 (or 38) of the states. In 1977 35 states had ratified the amendment. Due to the efforts of Phyllis Schlafly 5 states revoked ratification and ERA was stopped.
However, in 2017, following the Women’s March in Washington D.C., feminists descended on Nevada and the State Legislature caved and ratified it. Illinois did the same in June, 2018 and Feminists are on their way to Virginia and other states to secure their vote. Ironically, the man whose been trying to get ERA passed in Illinois for several years—in the name of women’s rights—resigned office following the vote due to sexual harassment claims against him.
Why Is ERA Bad for Women, Children and Families?
If ERA passes things like co-ed bathrooms in your children’s school, locker room and even your church will become law. Notice the wording of ERA below. It doesn’t say “women” anywhere, it says “sex” which, in today’s culture, can mean anything.
Equality Rights Amendment
- Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.
- Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
- Section 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification.

We Must Stop ERA to protect Life, Women, Children, & Families
ERA does not protect women’s rights; it undermines a woman’s identity, safety, and freedom. It enforces tax-payer funded abortion, erases gender and poses a dangerous threat to our children. ERA rips the very fabric of our nation. Through the efforts of Phyllis Schlafly millions of women rallied in statehouses opposing this dangerous amendment 40 years ago and were able to stop it. But thanks to radical feminists, ERA is back, rearing its ugly head once again. Now it is up to us to stop this dangerous threat to women, families, and the future of our nation!
