Say no to Drag Queen Story hour at Carnegie Library for children!

One of a parent’s primary responsibilities is to protect and nurture the minds and hearts of their children. That is why we have ratings on movies and parental consent forms for field trips. But what happens when the library story hour becomes a hostile environment for the minds and hearts of children?

On August 26th, the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is scheduled to host its first “Drag Queen Story hour.” The event is advertised as “fabulous event featuring a special guest,” and is recommended for children from birth to age five.

Children’s minds are vulnerable and must be protected! But how are parents supposed to protect their young children from transgender ideology when even library story hour events are no longer safe spaces?

Please voice your strong opposition to this event and let Carnegie Library know that we do not support this kind of harmful indoctrination for children. With enough pressure, we can convince Carnegie Library to cancel the event.

The story hour “will celebrate diversity, promote self-acceptance and gender expression and celebrate each child as an individual. Dress up in your most fabulous attire and get ready to have a blast!”

It is truly tragic that our children are now being sacrificed to the new god of sex and sexual expression.

Our culture is obsessed with perverted forms of sex. Seventy-nine percent of men age 18-30 view pornography on a regular basis. Millions of women and children are trafficked every year to fuel that very industry. As we recently reported, Teen Magazines are encouraging children to engage in anal sex and grocery checkout-line magazines promote father-daughter sexual intercourse. During June, whole downtown areas were shut down for gay pride parades that were funded by major corporations such as Bank of America and Uber.

Trying to force acceptance of the LGBT lifestyle on our children is just the latest manifestation of this obsession.

And it is clear that the transgender lifestyle is harmful to children. The American College of Pediatricians issued a statement stating that transgender ideology harms children.

“Gender dysphoria (GD), formerly listed as Gender Identity Disorder (GID), is a recognized mental disorder in the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association (DSM-V).”

Additionally, “[r]ates of suicide are nearly twenty times greater among adults who use cross-sex hormones and undergo sex reassignment surgery, even in Sweden which is among the most LGBTQ – affirming countries. What compassionate and reasonable person would condemn young children to this fate knowing that after puberty as many as 88% of girls and 98% of boys will eventually accept reality and achieve a state of mental and physical health?”

Why must even local libraries force children to accept worldviews which are clearly harmful to their mental health?

Please join us in asking Carnegie Library to cancel the Drag Queen story hour.

No Drag Queen Story hour

Dear Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh,

It has come to our attention that you plan to host a Drag Queen Story Hour on August 26th for children, ages newborn to five years old.

Given the negative effects of over sexualizing children, we strongly urge you to cancel this event and not sponsor sexual-themed events for children in the future.

We believe the minds of children should be cherished and nurtured. Indoctrinating children to accept a particular sexual lifestyle and political agenda from birth is nothing short of child abuse.

Shouldn’t a story hour be free from political and sexual posturing? A library should be a place where all members of the community feel safe and affirmed. However, through promoting such a polarizing sexual agenda to five-year-olds, you are negating the very purpose of library programming.

Please cancel this sexually charged event and restate story hours that nurture and cultivate the imaginations of our children. Our little ones should be encouraged to be innocent kids, not hyper-sexualized from birth.
