Thank South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster for defunding Planned Parenthood!
Abortion is a grave evil in our society. It’s critical that we fight on all fronts to empower women and protect vulnerable, unborn babies. There are many means by which we can accomplish this goal, but it’s no secret that ending state funding to Planned Parenthood would be a huge step towards protecting life in South Carolina!
Good news! South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster just signed an executive order defunding Planned Parenthood! Abortion clinics and facilities will no longer receive any local or state money! This is a huge victory for life. Please thank Governor McMaster for standing up for life by defunding abortion clinics.
The Executive order states that no monies "via grant, contract, state-administered funds, or any other form" will be given to any physician or doctor's office affiliated with an abortion facility.
Additionally, the order states, "The State of South Carolina has a strong culture and longstanding tradition of protecting the life and liberty of the unborn.”
In an attempt to keep their unparalleled public funding, Planned Parenthood claims that they do far more than just abortion—they are supposedly committed to providing women the full range of reproductive health services, including prenatal care.
As a series of recent investigative videos produced by Live Action have demonstrated, however, Planned Parenthood clinics offer women only one option—abortion.
Planned Parenthood clinics (1) do not offer prenatal care, (2) won’t allow use of ultrasounds for anything other than abortion, and, in fact, (3) are required to meet certain quotas of abortions each month. Even one of these facts being true is a travesty; all three make the mission of Planned Parenthood clear—perform as many abortions as possible!
A former employee of Planned Parenthood recently revealed that she was trained “to really encourage women to get an abortion and to [get] it at Planned Parenthood, because that would help us meet our goal [quota]. We would try to have the appointment for the abortion scheduled before they left the clinic.
“We would say things like, ‘your visit today costs X number of dollars, how much of that are you going to be able to pay today?’ If they said, ‘I’m not able to pay today,’ we’d say, ‘If you can’t pay ten dollars today, how are you going to take care of a baby? … There is nowhere you can go to get help, don’t you think your smartest choice is termination.’”
It’s obvious, Planned Parenthood isn’t a women’s health clinic primarily – it’s an abortion business.
Thankfully, abortion clinics will no longer be funded in South Carolina! Let’s stand up and thank the Governor for defunding this abortion business. And let’s instead support women’s health care centers that do offer real medical care—and don’t make a business of killing unborn babies.
