Throughout the ages, a hallmark of Christianity has been the care of orphans. Christians have been revolutionary in seeing orphaned children as significant and worthy of protection. In Victorian England, orphaned children were considered scum suitable only for workhouses until the great Christian George Muller opened the eyes of the culture through his revolutionary and compassionate care for orphans. 

However, many on the Left are working hard to make sure Christians are barred from caring for orphaned children. The latest liberal city to engage in this lunacy is Philadelphia.

Philadelphia has recently joined the ranks of several other cities and states that have decided that sexual liberty trumps orphan welfare by cutting ties with Catholic Charities.

As Life Site News has reported, “The city of Philadelphia will no longer place foster children with parents through the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Catholic Social Services (CSS) because the archdiocese won’t place kids with same-sex couples.”

Please sign this petition now to the City of Philadelphia voicing your strong disapproval and demanding that they stop discriminating against Christians at the expense of orphans.

Why has the City of Philadelphia chosen to cut ties? Because Catholic Charities (surprise!) actually hold to what the Bible teaches. 

Catholic catechism teaches that “A man and a woman united in marriage, together with their children, form a family. This institution is prior to any recognition by public authority, which has an obligation to recognize it. It should be considered the normal reference point by which the different forms of family relationship are to be evaluated.” (CCC 2202). 

Science has proven what the Bible has always taught – families are made of moms and dads, and kids need both in order to thrive.  In fact, research has demonstrated that growing up without a father and mother can permanently damage the brain and cause children to be angrier and turn to self-destructive behaviors.

But now, Philadelphia wants to throw science and religious practice to the wind – even though half of Philadelphia citizens belong to a church and nearly a quarter of the population is actually Catholic! Why would anyone want to force an adoption agency to place a child in a situation they know will be harmful to that child?

And this liberal agenda at the expense of orphans: having fewer orphanages and adoption agencies to care for kids is better for no one –especially not the kids.

Please sign this petition to the City of Philadelphia and ask them why they are willing to make foster kids pay the price for their anti-Christian agenda.
