CSW58 Hijacked by Radicals

When radical feminists stood up and interupted an offical United Nations meeting -- in an attempt to initimidate pro-family and pro-life delagates -- I knew we must act.

Groups like International Planned Parenthood Foundation and Center for Reproductive Rights have hit an all-time low. Instead of sending consultants to the United Nations to discuss policy with delegates, they sent activists to chastise them.

During the Commission on the Status of Women negotiations, a group of radical activists acted in a manner which was contrary to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations. Their actions were politically motivated acts of intimidation against Member States of the United Nations. It should be noted, the Chair was present while this occured. The Chair has the responsibility to protect the integrity of the occurred meeting (CSW58) and to protect delegates in the room.

Some radical activists were witnessed stalking pro-life and pro-family delegates, and furthermore took pictures of them during private meetings.  Directly outside the room where negotiations were held, they wore Sexual Orientation Gender Identity t-shirts, which had to be confiscated by United Nations Police, and wore masks covering nearly their entire face.

At the close of negotiations, at which point, Civil Society representatives were allowed to enter the negotiating room, and at which point, radical activists cackled, cheered, jeered and booed the delegates during the meeting, acting in an intimidating manner during the vote of certain amendments.  It must be noted that the Chair was present in the room and allowed for this to occur.

Petition to: CSW58 Chair

Please allow this communication to serve as a formal complaint to the Chair of the negotiations, during the HIV/AIDS Resolution of the 58th Commission on the Status of Women meetings, the Ambassador of the Philippines, H.E. Mr. Libran N. Cabactulan.

During the negotiations, a group of radical activists acted in a manner which was contrary to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations. Their actions were politically motivated acts of intimidation against Member States of the United Nations. It should be noted, as Chair, you have the responsibility to protect the integrity of the occurred meeting (CSW58) and to protect delegates in the room.

Please know that some of these radical activists were witnessed stalking delegates that held alternative views, and furthermore taking pictures of them during private meetings.

It must be noted that you were present in the room and allowed for this to occur.

Mutual respect is essential during negotiations, so that a consensus can be arrived at and delegations can make statements without any show of disrespect. This is where equality begins.
At no time within an official United Nations meeting are any of these forms of behavior acceptable. Again, I must say, as Chair you must protect the integrity of the process and protect the delegates in the room and you failed to do so.

I am calling on you to formally investigate these allegations. Certainly, if this activity is allowed to stand, one can argue that it affects the integrity of the agreed upon conclusions, and sets a precedent for future official United Nations meetings.

Respectfully submitted,

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
