Ask the candidates of the next EU Elections to commit to defend life, family and freedom
RESET EUROPE!
RESET EUROPE!
From 22 to 25 May 2014, the elections of the European Parliament are taking place across Europe.
Novae Terrae Foundation submits together with over 30 European NGOs (among which: CitizenGO, Christian Concern, Christian Legal Center, The Benson Society, Voice for Justice UK, Life Institute, All For Values, and Ireland Stand Up) to all candidates of EU Elections, a Pledge asking them to promote and defend the following values, in case they will be elected.
1. Human dignity and right to life from conception to natural death, executing citizens' initiative One of Us.
2. Family founded on the legal union between a man and a woman, particularly supporting young couples and large families.
3. The respect of freedom of religion combating religious discriminations, freedom of thought and conscience, also in medical field.
4. The Subsidiarity Principle, fight against poverty and social exclusion, social justice and the promotion of the important role of young people.
5. Freedom of education promoting parents' rights.
CitizenGO encourages all European citizens who share these values (life, family, freedom and social justice) to sign this petition: the signatures will reinforce the Pledge for the European Elections by Novae Terrae Foundation and will be determinant to strongly ask the candidates to sign it and, once they are elected, to work coherently with these commitments during their mandate.
In the latest months, with the presentation of Estrela, Lunacek, Zuber and Bauer resolutions, some members and groups of European Parliament showed hostility against our values and the respect of fundamental human rights. In three cases among the above mentioned circumstances, also thanks to CitizenGO campaigns, the hemicycle rejected the resolutions, which promoted abortion, obligatory sexual education, homosexual marriage, adoption by same-sex couples and the imposition of “gender ideology”. But just defending from these unacceptable proposals is not enough: we have to be prepared for the next legislature, so it is necessary that a group of members of Parliament from different countries and parties work with civil society to actively promote positive resolutions and community politics.
Your signature and support can change the future of Europe!
The list of the supporters of the Pledge (from now to 21 may) is updated day by day on the website of the Novae Terrae Foundation. This way the electors have the opportunity to know who committed to defend life, family and freedom of religion and education. Novae Terrae Foundation and the NGOs supporting the Pledge will obviously monitor the action of future members of European Parliament who adopt the Pledge, their coherence and commitment.
In the latest months, CitizenGO has activated hundreds of thousands citizens to combat against pro-abortion and LGBT lobbies. During the next legislature it would be great to do the same to support proposals, measures and resolutions in compliance with our values and human rights.
