The African nation of Sierra Leone is under pressure to legalize abortion. We cannot let that happen! Sign the petition to warn them not to make this terrible mistake!

The misnamed "Safe Abortion Act of 2015" passed the parliament in early December, but the President sent the bill back to the parliament for reconsideration. It may come back to the President's desk any day now. We must ensure that Sierra Leone continues to protect human life, including in the womb!

Recent peer-reviewed research shows that countries with less permissive abortion laws can actually attain better maternal health.

Because calls for “safe abortion” do nothing to help women who want to bring their children safely into the world, Sierra Leone should focus its energy on dealing with the preventable causes of maternal mortality stemming from poverty, lack of education and lack of access to critical health-care infrastructure to provide adequate prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal care. Indeed, there's no such thing as a "safe abortion" because abortion always kills a baby.

Sierra Leone, like most African countries, is under heavy pressure from the United States, European Union, and other Western nations to legalize abortion. It is incredibly important for us to encourage Sierra Leone for reject abortion and to reaffirm their laws protecting the right to life!

No abortion in Sierra Leone!

President Koroma,

I respectfully write to you to oppose the "Safe Abortion Act of 2015" passed by the Parliament on 8 December 2015. Thank you for sending this bill back to Parliament for reconsideration.

By asking the Parliament to reconsider this bill, you have shown the world that Sierra Leone is a nation where the most vulnerable are not disposable. Like most other African nations, you recognise the inestimable value of every human life.

As you know, calls for "safe abortion" do nothing to help women who want to bring their children safely into the world. This energy should instead be focused on dealing with the preventable causes of maternal mortality stemming from poverty, lack of education, and lack of access to critical health-care infrastructure in order to provide adequate prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal care.

I implore you to defend the right to life from conception to natural death. By stopping this abortion bill from becoming the law of the land, your lasting legacy will be one of life and liberty for every man, woman, and child in Sierra Leone.
