National inquiry needed into pandemic induced suicide crisis
The mantra "we're all in this together" is not only tone-deaf but also an outright fallacy.
Firstly, because it is quite apparent that none of the state governments can agree with each other nor the Federal government on a unified plan to get through to the other side of COVID-19 and secondly, millions of Australians are barely hanging on by a thread thanks to having their jobs and lives decimated by incompetent bureaucrats across the country.
According to an Australian Institute of Health and Welfare study published in July 2020, 886 people died of COVID-19 in Australia. During the same period (February to October), more than 2000 Australians died from suicide. In other words, twice the number of Aussies died at their own hands than from COVID-19 itself. Sadly, the numbers are only going to rise in parallel with the associated hardships presented by COVID-19 and government imposed restrictions.
This is the crippling national crisis that the government has remained silent on.
That’s why we are asking you to take 30-seconds right now to sign this crucial petition to the Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt.
And while many factors can lead to someone tragically taking their own life, isolation, job loss, family breakdown or separation from loved ones and social support, constant uncertainty, never-ending restrictions and financial hardship and now mandatory vaccination – have been a consistent theme over the last two years. In the case of very young children - large portions of their young lives have been spent in mentally traumatising lockdown or restrictive societal settings - causing lasting mental trauma.
The exploding mental health crisis is one tragic symptom of an inadequate and rapidly failing health and social system response. It is the consequence of a country that can't seem to make up their mind about whether we learn to live with COVID-19 (and its variants) or continuously subject the population to authoritarian restrictions that stem from fear, not evidence-based science.
The mental health impacts that have been directly caused by poor decision making on the behalf of state and Federal governments are grossly understated. The time to do something is now.
Add your name: Demand Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt call for a national inquiry into the mental health crisis caused by totalitarian COVID-19 restrictions, job losses and lockdowns.
With healthcare systems now at breaking point and not a single sign of expanding this vital capacity, it is now harder than ever for individuals to easily access the mental health support services that they need.
That's why we are asking you to demand a national parliamentary inquiry be held into the induced mental health crisis caused by governments across Australia taking away jobs and restricting so many freedoms including the right to freedom of conscience over COVID-19 vaccines.
If held, a national inquiry will examine the impacts of highly flawed political decision making when it comes to COVID-19 pandemic management and the associated failings of the public health system - specifically the lack of mental health support available and make recommendations to improve in this area moving forwards.
We need to ask the hard questions and state Premiers, in particular, need to be held accountable for prolonging the distress and suffering of all Australians.
Sign this petition to call for an end to this madness urgently! Don’t forget to share this critical message with your friends and family.
