UPDATE 11/25/16: Senator Donald Plett's office has released a statement criticizing Bill C-16. Senator Plett points out that this bill limits free speech and actually compels speech that would normalize Gender Identity Disorder. He points out that there have been NO PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS on this dangerous bill! You can hear the full statement here:

URGENT UPDATE 11/19/16: Bill C-16 has just passed Third Reading in the House of Commons. This means it would need only Senate approval and then Royal Assent, to be passed into law. These are much shorter steps than the readings, and passage into law could be very fast. This is our last ditch effort to kill the bill.
We must make our voices heard! Please share the petition as soon as you can with friends and family to stop this from passing into law!

UPDATE 11/5/16: Bill C-16 has unfortunately passed its second reading. Under this bill, “gender diversity” and “gender expression” will be added to the Canadian Human Rights Act and to the Criminal Code, with dangerous effects upon the free speech of individuals like Dr. Jordan Peterson.
Only the third reading and then Royal Assent would be needed to pass the bill into law. That would be outrageous, because during the entire period since the bill was introduced in May, there have been no public consultations!
It's unbelievable, friend. This entire movement is anti-scientific. A summary of the best social science research, published in The New Atlantis, confirms that the claims about sexuality and gender being made by Bill C-16's proponents are not supported by scientific evidence!

The debate about "transgender" rights is raging across the globe, and the latest victim of the tolerance parade is set to be Canada.
Dangerous legislation, proposed this week by the Canadian government, makes all so-called "discrimination" against transgendered individuals a hate crime.
According to Canadian government representatives, the proposed legislation requires that all individuals be treated according to their "chosen gender." This includes the universal right to use bathrooms, locker rooms, etc, that correspond to one's chosen gender.
Upon introducing this legislation, Jody Wilson-Raybould, Canada's Justice Minister, said: "The government is proposing these changes because the law must be clear and explicit: transgender and other gender-diverse persons have the right to live free from discrimination, hate propaganda and hate crime."
Even those who wish to see all individuals protected should be wary of this legislation. Sweeping legislation like this will lead to the persecution of Christians and other religious groups who stand for traditional understandings of sexuality and gender.
We've already seen several cases in the UK where Christians have been criminally charged, jailed, and fined for quoting Bible verses about gender. This will become commonplace in Canada if this dangerous legislation is passed.
Not only will this lead to religious persecution, but it ignores the rights of those who wish to use the restroom or locker room only with people of their biological sex.
We have to ask ourselves... do we really want our fourteen-year-old daughters forced into a situation where they have to undress in a locker room next to a biological male? This is a clear violation of girls', women's, and even men's privacy and security.
Please take a stand now, before it is too late. Join us in asking the Senate to reject this dangerous and sweeping legislation.
This legislation is expected to easily pass through the lower house of Parliament, so we are petitioning the Senate (the upper house) to stop this legislation. When you sign this petition, an email will be sent directly to both Conservative and Liberal Senate leaders.
