Help us support pro-life billboards in Nairobi

UPDATE: 21st May 2019:- Pro-life protests were heald in Nairobi on May 18th to condemn the attack on pro-life billboards. Signatures will be delivered to the governor of Nairobi on Wednesday 22nd May 2019.

UPDATE 2nd May 2019:- The Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has finally pulled down the pro-life billboards without a notice or refund of funds to sponsors.  Legal team  to seek legal redress.

UPDATE 26th April: The Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has through her company Adopt A Light Limited  given a verbal notice to Sozo Church of God notifying the church that they will pull down the bilboards . The company says they were instructed by the governor of Nairobi to pull the billboards down, but the Sozo Church of God will be seeking a court injunction. SIGN this petition to help save the billboards.

A handful of pro-abortion activists have demanded that pro-life billboards running in the streets of Nairobi County be pulled down.  Sponsored by the Nairobi-based Sozo Church of God, 13 billboards and posters near traffic lights and on electricity poles along Nairobi’s main roads state “Abortion is Murder!” or “Shut down abortion clinics!” under a picture of a pre-born baby. Another has a beautiful message that reads:-“Your mother gave you a chance, it wasn’t easy then too. Give your baby a chance!

The billboards which encourage women to keep their babies as opposed to killing them through abortions are now at the risk of being pulled down. Speaking to CitizenGO Africa  representative,Reverend Catherine Oganga who is in charge of the billboards project expressed her fears as now the advertising company wants to pull out from running the billboards.

What does the Kenyan law state on abortion:-

(1) Every person has the right to life.

(2) The life of a person begins at conception.

(3) A person shall not be deprived of life intentionally, except to the extent authorised by this Constitution or other written law.

(4) Abortion is not permitted unless, in the opinion of a trained health professional, there is need for emergency treatment, or the life or health of the mother is in danger, or if permitted by any other written law.

It is illegal to procure an abortion in Kenya as also stated in the penal code. (158) Any person who, with intent to procure miscarriage of a woman, whether she is or is not with child, unlawfully administers to her or causes her to take any poison or other noxious thing, or uses any force of any kind, or uses any other means whatever, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years.

The freedom of expression is also protected by the Kenyan law in Article 32 while Article 33 protects people on their rights to beleif, conscience and opinions.

The Sozo Church of God has not contravened any law by sponsoring the billboards that promote adoption and giving birth instead of abortions, they are just but targets of a well funded group of abortionists who affiliate themselves with the largest abortion corporation in the world- the Internal Planned Parenthood Federation and their networks.

With this petition, we seek your support in making sure that the pro-life messages on those billboards continue to be read by Nairobians by asking the Governor of Nairobi not to pull them down.

We urge the governor of Nairobi County to instead make speedy revocation of licences of all abortionists operating in his county.

Please SIGN THIS PETITION to also encourage the Sozo Church of God and the advertisers not to pull down the pro-life messages.

Petition to: His Excellency Mike Sonko Governor of Nairobi

Dear Your Excellency , Hon. Governor Mike Sonko,

I write to congratulate you for your history in defending pre-born babies especially in Pumwani hospital and for your love and treasure of the gift of life which is represented by the new born babies you have served to protect.

I now implore you not to remove the billboards running in Nairobi supporting these precious gifts- the preborn babies. The pro-abortion people are not pleased with the fact that someone can put billboards in the streets of Nairobi to support the gift of life from conception till natural death .

Your Excellency,in the Kenyan constitution article 26, it is clear life begins at conception and that everyone has a right to life. In the same constitution, the right to freedom of expression is guaranteed.

Some blood thirsty abortionists that want pre-born babies killed through abortions now want the billboards removed as this means bad business for them. Abortion is a business for these people,it is an industry benefitting these activists.

Your constituents do not support abortion, many women who have been through abortion are now burdened with shame and guilt and many other effects of abortion that the abortionists dont want to tell.

Abortion mills are scattered all over Nairobi County and women are not told the truth. These billboards serve to tell the truth to women and protect the babies. Take sides with the babies your excellency.

I write to you asking you to support the pre-born babies by supporting pro-life billboards in Nairobi. We urge you to instead make speedy revocation of licences of all abortionists operating in Nairobi county.
