Georgia: 'Upskirting' Must be Illegal
Warning to Georgia women: if someone secretly takes pictures under your skirt, it is perfectly legal. Join us in fighting against this invasion of privacy!
In the recent months, three different Georgia men, around the Atlanta area, took cellphone video up women's skirts while they were shopping at their local grocery store.
This is referred to as 'upskirting.'
But, just this past week, due to a technicality in Georgia's invasion of privacy law, Judges on the Court of Appeals ruled in Georgia, 'upskirting' in a public place is not illegal.
In the opinion the majority of Judges, lawmakers must fix the current law or create a new law to ban 'upskirting.'
Upskirting is not only gross but a severe invasion of privacy! Women should feel safe when they leave their home. They shouldn’t have to feel violated at the grocery store, movie theater, or any other public place.
Please sign our petition calling on the Georgia Speaker of the House, David Ralston, to prioritize the privacy of women by making 'upskirting' illegal in the State of Georgia.
